Frequently Asked Questions

  • During your physiotherapy appointments, it is best to wear loose, comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict your movement and allows the physiotherapist to fully assess your movement. It is also advisable to wear flat comfortable shoes.

  • It is helpful to have a list of any medications you are taking and any previous medical or therapy reports relating to your neurological condition or injury, so that the physiotherapist can be fully informed about your health.

  • You do not need to provide any equipment. We may recommend equipment for you to purchase, if we think this will benefit you. We can facilitate referring you for specialist pieces of equipment, such as wheelchairs and splints, if required.

  • Restore Neuro Rehab works with anyone who has a neurological condition or injury, including stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, traumatic brain injury, brain tumours and more. If we cannot meet your needs, we will do our best to redirect you to an alternative therapy service.

  • We offer home-based physiotherapy, in your own home or care home. We can also work in other locations such as parks, gyms or swimming pools. Treating you at home allows us to see how you are managing in your home environment and takes away the inconvenience of travelling to an appointment.

  • At your initial assessment we will discuss your rehabilitation goals and make recommendations on how many sessions you may require to meet your goals. We offer different treatment plans to meet your needs. We can do an initial assessment and provide you with an exercise programme and review you on request. We can provide a short burst of physiotherapy to work on specific goals. We can provide longer term physiotherapy to help you manage your condition and progress your fitness. We also offer intensive rehabilitation to help optimise your recovery.

  • Yes, if you give your permission. Having family and carers involved in therapy is often key to achieving your full potential. Families can either join the sessions or can receive updates periodically.

  • You can refer yourself or a family member or someone from your care team can refer on your behalf. All referrals can be made via email. A telephone call can then be scheduled if you prefer to discuss over the phone.

  • Short reports and letters are charged at £60. Comprehensive reports are charged at £120.

  • We are unable to invoice medical insurers directly. You may be able to claim all or a proportion of your physiotherapy fees. We will provide you with a receipt which you can use to claim reimbursement. We recommend you contact your medical insurer prior to commencing treatment to discuss this with them.

  • Restore Neuro Rehab sees clients in: Acton, Brentford, Chiswick, Ealing, Hammersmith, Hanwell, Isleworth, Kew and Osterley. If you live outside these areas additional travel fees may apply. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

  • We understand that in some cases cancellations are unavoidable. We ask that you give 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or change your appointment. Any cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a cancellation fee equivalent to the cost of the session.
