Specialist Home-based
Neuro Physiotherapy

Restore Neuro Rehab was established to provide expert neuro physiotherapy to people in their home. We pride ourselves on delivering a knowledgeable, compassionate and professional service. Our mission is to improve your wellbeing by helping you manage your symptoms, restore movement and increase your independence.

Providing home-based physiotherapy takes away the inconvenience of travelling to an appointment and allows us to view your home environment and the challenges you may be having. At the initial appointment, we will complete a thorough assessment to understand your needs and create a tailor-made treatment plan.

We provide physiotherapy to people with a range of neurological conditions, including stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and brain injury. We will help you to restore movement through hands-on therapy, exercise, specialist equipment, education and advice. Treatment includes exercises to maintain or improve your strength, balance, flexibility and general fitness. We use techniques and equipment to help your walking and reduce your risk of falls. We can recommend specialist equipment and assist with referring you to other services, to help manage your condition and optimise your independence.

We have over 20 years of experience working with clients with neurological conditions and have worked extensively in the NHS and private practice.

What is Neuro physiotherapy

Neuro physiotherapy is a specialist branch of physiotherapy dedicated to improving the function and independence of people who have a neurological condition. Symptoms may include:

  • Weakness

  • Altered sensation

  • Pain

  • Spasticity

  • Tremor

  • Ataxia

  • Dizziness

  • Fatigue

  • Coordination impairment

  • Balance impairment.

These symptoms can occur because of damage to the central nervous system or peripheral nerves, causing the symptoms of neurological conditions. Neuro physiotherapy helps to promote new neural pathways, through repetitive movements and exercises. The ability of the brain to change and adapt in response to experience, is called neuroplasticity. Many people with neurological conditions find it difficult to be physically active because their neurological condition makes it difficult to move. Neuro physiotherapy can help to improve your fitness, by helping guide you in the most beneficial types of exercise.
